Josephine Lee,
Vancouver harpist performing live music
for weddings and other events

From heavenly sounds of David’s harp that soothed the troubles of his King, to the musical persuasions of Orpheus and his harp, the Harp has remained one of the most outstanding, and written about instruments in our history.

Soon after my first introduction to the harp at the age of five, I began to play the harp and continued with private lessons until I began my studies at the University of Victoria for Performance Harp. I have been a professional Harpist, Wedding Harpist, and harp teacher for over sixteen years. While in Victoria, I performed as the resident Harpist for the Fairmont Hotel “The Empress" Dining Room and Tea Room, the Union Club, and for Royal Victorian Weddings.

In Vancouver, I’ve performed the harp at hundreds of Wedding Ceremonies in beautiful venues around the Lower Mainland, such as The Chapel at Stanley Park, Minoru Chapel, The Celebration Pavilion at Queen Elizabeth Park, Hart House, Brock House, Cecil Greens, Hycroft Manor, Terminal City, Sutton Place Hotel, Four Seasons, Pan Pacific, and many others. I have been blessed with being able to play the harp at these momentous occasions in people’s lives, and as such, I believe every performance I give to be the best quality I can provide.

I believe the quality that sets my music apart from others is being able to accommodate with special music requests. You will see from my Music page, that I have dozens of music samples from all genres, however if you have particular songs that are special to you and would like it performed at your Wedding Ceremony, I would most likely be able to learn it by ear.

Every Wedding Ceremony, Reception, or Event is unique and special to the style and personality of each person or couple. It is my pleasure to provide a personalized repertoire for your Ceremony music and add the elegance and beauty of a Concert Harp for you and your guests to enjoy.

Welcome to my website and please have a look through some of my Harp images from recent weddings and have a listen to my recorded music samples. If you have any questions, check availability, would like a quote, or to book a consultation, please feel free to email me at josephine@vancouverharp.com.

Love took up the harp of Life,
and smote on all the chords with might;
Smote the chord of Self, that, trembling,
passed in music out of sight.

– Alfred Tennyson Tennyson, Locksley Hall. Line 33.
